My favourite artist
My favourite artist is Lemi Ponifasio, he born in 1964 and he from New Zealand, in Samoa. He work is very complex: He is a artist, stage director, designer and choreografe. Alway he was intersting about the ancient people and also the culture in your country , because he belong to Maori culture: the Maori is a people much soone than the conformation of New Zealand, the tipical dance is the HAKA, in this, woman and men scream and move your body like a war ritual like a preparation and presentation when they meet with the oponen: Lemi Ponfiasio take it this topic and he create different performance, for example: Birds With Skymirrors (2010) , this is my faouvirte piece of art made for Ponifasio, and is your most faumus work, where the dancer imitated to the bird also of to express the crisis global warming throug the haka dance.
I really like him because i feel her work like pride and a change of mind about how we are live in the word with polution and killing the nature and here the art take a critical position for change the word, as the artist Lemi that's how spreads the word with conscience!
i remember that one time i meet with him because my brother participed in your work: my brother dancer in the pice of art "i am MAPUCHE". THIS WAS VERY EXCITING! i cryes because i remember my firts brother, he die when he was 23 years old, for defend the cause Mapuche....so , the works of Lemy Ponifasio always touch my heart
